BOOMI Forest Initiative
She or He who plants a tree plants a hope
- Lucy Larcom, Plant a Tree –
On September 2019, we started the BOOMI Forest Initiative. BOOMI goal was to raise funds to plant an entire forest (2,000 Trees) in Inner Mongolia. To do that, we contributed with 8.8% of our total revenue towards this initiative and in less than 6 months YOU helped us to plant our first forest together!
For this forest, we cooperated with Roots & Shoots on their Million Trees Project.
We got so excited with all the support that we are now going for 50,000 trees! This means that over the next 5 years you can help to plant 25 forests (WOW!)
Here is our progress so far:
Want to be a part of it?
The trees you plant through this initiative live for around 150-300 years and some of them go up to 700 years! By supporting the forests, you can create a better habitat in that region and help to ensure food source for the next hundreds of years.

About the BOOMI Forest
Our project aims to raise community awareness of the Earth’s precious environment, while focusing on steps individuals can take to lessen their negative impact on the natural world.
By planting trees in Inner Mongolia, this project is designed to improve both ecological and humanitarian conditions there. It also encompasses true capacity building as the local population is intimately involved with, and benefits from, every step of planting, maintaining and monitoring the trees.
Trees from our forest
We plant Scotch Pines (Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv.), a rugged evergreen tree native to Europe. Scotch Pine prefer moist, well-drained soil and do best in full sun, however, they are very durable, adaptable and it tolerates alkaline soil up to a pH of 7.5, which means it grows in most types of soil.
Because they’re so tough, Scotch Pines are popular in spots that can’t support many other kinds of plants. They’re especially good at reclaiming undesirable areas and suitable for fighting desertification, which makes them perfect for the Inner Mongolia and nearby areas. In our forest, they have a survival rate of 85%.
